Fibre Line Drivers

Fibre Line Drivers are used to increase the distance attainable by an interface. With the interconnection being fibre, vast distances are achievable for most interfaces. Sometimes, fibre line drivers are specified to stop problems with EMC (ElectroMagnetic Field) interference or to provide a more secure connection than a copper cable run. (Fibre is much more difficult to tap into)
