Fibre Patch Cords

Fibre Patch Leads are normally used to connect from a fibre patch panel into cabinet mounted equipment. They can also be used to directly connect one piece of equipment to another, care needs to be taken to connect transmit to receive and receive to transmit in this situation.

Fibre Type

Three common types of fibre patch cords are available, multimode fibre at 50/125 or 62.5/125 or singlemode fibre at 9/125. It is important to match the patch lead to that of the installed fibre and that of the equipment at each end.

Fibre Connectors

Select the connector required to match the equipment and / or the patch panel. Different connectors can be specified on each end of the fibre so if this is required simply choose one interface to start with.
