This
range of transceivers has been designed
for you to fit and forget. The range covers
UTP, Thinnet and fibre applications. For
most applications, the model which plugs
directly into the AUI port will result in
the most cost-effective installation. For
AUI ports where access is restricted, a
model with a 0.5 meter cable built in is
more suitable. Users of Apple’s Macintosh
and PowerMac family will appreciate the
model with a 0.5 meter Apple AUI interface
cable built in. All models have been designed
to comply with multinational standards such
as EN60950 for safety, CISPR22 for RFI and
IEEE802.3 for functional performance. The
circuit boards inside the units have been
designed to meet the IEEE and IEC standards
for isolating equipment from power surges,
giving a degree of network protection that
is hard to find elsewhere. The UTP models
will work with the older Ethernet version
2.0 and StarLan specifications as well as
IEEE802.3. The fibre models work with both
FOIRL and 10BaseF standards, and have ST
connectors supplied as standard.
