The
SW2124 base unit features 24 dual speed
10/100 (RJ-45/STP) ports. This switch provides
the peak performance required for a wide
variety of demanding network applications.
The flexible design enables the unit to
be installed as a department as well as
an enterprise switch in networks where high
data throughput is required. There are four
module options, one 4 port 100Base-FX (SC),
one 8 port 100Base-FX (SC), one 8 port 100Base-TX
and one single port 1000Base-SX module.
The fibre optic interfaces are especially
useful in applications where the SW2124
is used as a backbone switch distributing
data to different floors in one building.
The unit's true non-blocking switching architecture
(4.8 Gigabit) performs wire speed switching
even when all ports are featuring Fast Ethernet
connections. Auto speed negotiation as well
as full or half-duplex operation on all
ports are additional features of SW2124.
The port status is displayed on a graphic/alpha
numeric VFD display. Enhanced information
such as self-test, traffic utilisation,
collision rate and speed can be monitored
on VFD display. Port information like switch
mode, link type, transmit and receive packets,
packet lost, jabber and CRC error can be
retrieved from the statistic counter and
also monitored on VFD display. The smart
cursor console allows configuration directly
on the front panel.
