This
E1 NTU is the most powerful fully featured
single-port Interface Converter on the market
and allows the user to connect High Speed
Routers, Bridges and PABXs to E1 Networks
both clear channel (up to 2.048Mbps) and
fractional (Nx64).
The advanced features offered by this NTU
allow Network Managers to adjust data rates
from a central site as well as
monitoring link integrity with immediate
notification of loss of service or potential
problems. Alarms can even be automaticallyenerated
by the NTU dialling out on any attached
modem into a designated alert office. Full
set up for parameters such as speed, Time
Slot Allocation, CRC4 and timing can be
made by easily accessible dip switches or
by attaching a PC to a dedicated port. Once
in place, the NU1 can be fully monitored
using built in SNMP MIB II. Network connection
is achieved by a built in network port.
The Solo Select T1/E1 DSU, a member of the
i-Net Management Suite, is an intelligent
single-port DSU with an Ethernet Management
port, downloadable code, and feature keying.
Feature keying allows you to select the
feature sets consistent with your application
requirements and your budget today and add
feature sets in the future as you need them
without any hardware or software upgrade.
The Solo Select basic unit provides LAN-WAN
connectivity and management access for internet,
Frame Relay, or point-to-point services.
It is available both as a stand-alone device
as well as a chassis-based version. The
Troubleshooter option feature set includes
LMI conditioning, link-based testing and
in-band management for Frame Relay access.
These tools simplify installation and troubleshooting,
reducing network downtime and remote technician
costs. The Monitor option provides remote
monitoring via RMON-1 and is available in
versions which support 32 or 96 DLCIs. RMON-1
furnishes performance statistics and alarm
thresholding for higher utilisation of your
Frame Relay network resources. The Probe
option supports RMON-2 and provides network
visibility up to the application layer.
Bandwidth and application users can be identified
by an IP address. This improves network
reliability, reduces downtime and aids in
capacity and network expansion planning.
This embedded probe functionality is especially
critical in revenue-generating Frame Relay
networks.
The Validator feature set option includes
the ability to verify service levels agreements
through the implementation of the Frame
Relay Forum FRF.13 standard. Performance
metrics such as throughput, availability,
and latency are available when used in conjunction
with WANView or ChoiceView. This ensures
that you are getting the level of service
from your service provider that you are
paying for.
