The
pIPer from BetterBox®:
Link serial ports anywhere your
corporate network goes.
Polled systems can make use of the broadcast
feature to gather responses from many remote
devices.
Easy set-up from any unit.
Once you have given a pIPer an IP address
it can be Ping’ed, configured and
monitored from any other unit on your network.
Use IP numbers to make & break data
connections between units.
Do I always need to buy pairs
of pIPer units?
No. Depending upon your application, you
may be able to take advantage of pIPer’s
port-to-many-port broadcast feature. Alternatively,
your application may be able to use embedded
commands to make & break port-to-port
links between units. One local pIPer can
be used to talk to literally thousands of
remote pIPer units. pIPer can also deliver
data directly to a UDP socket opened on
your Network Interface Adapter.
Why shouldn’t I use terminal
servers?
Self-repairing links. Every network packet
is error checked and sequence numbered to
ensure that all of your data is delivered
error free. Should the network or the power
fail, pIPer will automatically re-link when
the problem is resolved.
Point to point or point to multipoint
operation.
Choose between simple port-to-port connectivity
or take advantage of the powerful data broadcast
feature to send data from a single serial
port to multiple serial ports. Low cost
per port pIPer offers outstanding cost per
port value for money.
Powerful processing power.
pIPer’s has been designed with tomorrow’s
networks in mind. Ample processing power
ensures reliable operation whatever the
local network conditions.
Space Saving.
pIPers tiny footprint means that it doesn’t
take up more expensive communications room
space than is necessary.
