The new 350x series of multiplexors supersedes the 354 and 358 range, retaining all of the useful features of those older units and at the same time offering improved and enhanced features such as increased sub channel data rates, reduced size and weight and a new 6 port model. The 350x series is a range of Time Division Multiplexors, multiplexing 4, 6 or 8 individual RS-232 or RS422 devices onto a single composite channel. Each model in the range can also act as a Line Driver, supporting point-to-point communications at distances up to 1.8Km over two unconditioned twisted pairs. All models support end-to-end software flow control with the 4 and 6 port units also supporting hardware (RTS/CTS) flow control. The units are easy to install and configure, with no straps or dip switches to set. Built-in loopback and line tests ensure the reliability of the muxes and the line itself, whilst the front panel LEDs give a clear indication of sub channel status during operation. Because the Models 350x series uses modular RJ-45 ports for both main and sub-channel connections, they carry a very low profile, and can install in tight spaces. Connection to D-type hardware ports is achieved using modular to D-shell adapter cables, which can be ordered ready-made from BetterBox® If your application calls for input devices at remote distances from the multiplexor, you can use BetterBox Model 1000 short-range modems (plus the RS-422 version of the mux) to extend sub-channel distances to 4000 feet.
