The IC2001 G.703/G.704 Interface Converter provides a link between synchronous serial equipment operating at Nx64 Kbps and an E1 or Fractional E1 (FE1) line operating at up to 2.048Mbps. A range of interfaces are available for the IC2001 including X.21, V.35 and RS-530 for the DTE side and either an RJ-45 (120Ω) or Twin BNC (75Ω) connection for the line interface. The IC2001 is modular and has been designed to be as adaptable and versatile as possible. The interface cards can be inserted into either a 19” Rackmount chassis or a modular standalone desktop unit (call for details) to facilitate testing and allow the network configuration to be quickly and easily changed. On the opposite page we also show our low cost fixed interface variants which can be used in conjunction with either the chassis or standalone units. The E1/FE1 interface converter cards consist of two parts, the front card contains all the electronic circuitry, and the rear card contains the connectors. This design allows the field wiring to remain intact, while the front card can be removed and replaced. By utilising hot-swappable front cards, the network can quickly and easily be replaced or redesigned without having to power down the entire rack. The optional SNMP Management card can be used to provide full control over any installed cards in the rack chassis and allows an attached SNMP workstation to configure and monitor an entire rack of cards as well as any attached standalone devices. For Network Administrators who need QoS (Quality of Service) statistics then the SNMP cards are able to provide a wide range of reports including error rates, available bandwidth, load levels etc. The provision of a Flash ROM means existing cards can be field upgraded as future software developments occur. The 19” wide, 2U high card chassis offers 18 slots. It can support either 14 cards, one PSU plus redundant PSU or 16 cards with one PSU. The rack chassis can be used to house a complete range of interface converters, modems and line drivers in any combination that may be required. An optional RS-232 control port card installed in one of the available slots, will provide a software port allowing PC-configuration of all the cards in the rack.
