Fibre
optic technology provides many advantages
where high transmission speeds and electromagnetic
compatibility in combination with insensibility
to electromagnetic interference and galvanic
separation are required. Multiplexors exploit
the fibre optic line in the most efficient
way.
These Fibre Optic Multiplexors convert electrical
data of up to 6 devices into light signals,
transmitting them transparently via optical
fibres. At the other side, these light signals
are converted back into electrical data signals
and transferred to the corresponding devices.
Internal, external and remote clock modes
are selectable. The transmission distances
between the multiplexors can be up to 5 Km
for Multimode and up to 90 Km for Singlemode. The
multiplexors of the FME group support the
interfaces G.703, X.21, V.24, V.35 and V.36.
Due to the modular structure of the multiplexors
any combination of these interfaces is possible.

8Mbps Fibre Optic Modems |

The
3005 series Fibre Optic Modems provide
a highly reliable and cost effective
communication link via fibre for
transmitting either E1/E2 or T1/T2
traffic. The E1/E2 channels comply
with the ITU G.703 standard, using
HDB3 coding. The T1/T2 channels
comply with Bellcore standard and
can be configured to use AMI or
B8ZS coding.The internal PCB is
designed in a modular fashion so
that it can be integrated into the
800 Series units as a 3U rackmount
variant (call our Technical Support
Team for more details) or a standalone
modem.
All modems can be configured with
850nm and 1300nm wavelength multimode
optics or with a 1300nm single mode
LED or laser. The units are supplied
with unbalanced and balanced input/output
connectors. Comprehensive status
alarms are provided on the front
panel with the facility of remoting
alarms and controls via an RJ48
management connection. Local and
remote loopback can be configured
from switches on the face of the
unit. With an optical budget of
12dB to 14dB this series of modems
are ideal for cross-site/campus
style environments and telecom transmission
systems. These products provide
the end user with a cost effective
and highly reliable system.
