The
demand for leased line bandwidth is increasing
and therefore the E3 interface becomes common
in SDH networks. For an efficient use of
this interface the E3 multiplexer an be
used to break down the E3 interface to 16
structured G.703 E1/T1 channels. With its
modular design on the line side the unit
is easy to adapt to the existing SDH network.
Besides its E3 copper interface module the
EMUX-G offers a second line port being able
to accommodate another copper or even a
fibre optic module. On copper interfaces
the line coding follows the ITU standards
and is fully compatible with any SDH equipment
using the same standard. Even in point-to-point
applications with fibre optic link the unit
can cover distances up to 90 Km on fibre
optic cables without any regeneration.
On the interface side the unit is equipped
with 16 structured G.703 E1/T1 interfaces
which allow the use of the link in portions
of n x 64 Kbps. In combination with the
E1/T1 multiplexer INAX it becomes possible
to share one E1/T1 port with several applications.
Together with the VT100 management the EMUX-G
has an integrated SNMP agent which is outband
accessible via SLIP/PPP or 10BaseT / 100BaseTx
(optional). The inband access via one 64K
timeslot of the E3 link or of each E1/T1
port is also possible. The EMUX-G is a rack
mountable 19" standalone unit with
optional redundant power supply.
