The CB2000 is a desktop or rack mountable unit, which concentrates up to 32 ISDN/BRI ports onto either 1 or 2 ISDN/PRI ports. The CB2000 delivers two fully transparent 64Kbps B channels and full D channel signalling to each BRI port. Devices connected to the BRI ports can, at any time, originate/answer data or voice calls to or from the ISDN public network, the maximum number of simultaneous calls is limited only by the number of B channels available on the Primary Rate service (up to 60). Connecting multiple ISDN/BRI devices to a single ISDN/PRI service can lead to significant savings in line rental charges. The CB2000 achieves this without any reduction in performance. B channels on the ISDN/PRI can be accessed by any device connected to the CB2000 BRI ports. BRI devices can contend for PRI channels thus providing better line utilisation and a reduction in the number of lines required. As your network expands, the CB2000 will protect your investment by allowing a smooth transition from multiple BRIs to a single PRI installation. Existing BRI devices can still be used with no need for costly hardware upgrades.
