The
BetterBox® Hive B1 is the new answer to your need for a
Router, a Firewall and a Converter all in a single, very tidy
package. You need connectivity to your carrier, you need to protect
your company information from unauthorised access, and you need
the ability to get your data to the right place fast! The Hive
B1 will deliver the lot in one box.The standard unit includes
an Ethernet 100BaseT LAN port to connect directly to your main
LAN, and an additional 10BaseT Ethernet port for a second LAN,
for connection of your e-mail server, or for “DMZ”
use. On the trunk side, there is all the G.703, G.704 and X.21
connectivity up to 2 Mbps that you need.
There are full Firewall facilities defending both the LAN ports
and the trunk, and others separately looking after your internal
LAN to LAN traffic. This provides you with first class protection
against any unauthorised access to your networks and their valuable
contents. The Hive B1 comes with full inboard power supply and
is built to standard for direct connection to the data services
provided by the UK carrier community. It is also specified to
allow you to take maximum advantage of the trend towards use
of the Internet as your carrier of choice, with all of the requisite
connectivity software supplied as standard.
In addition, to keep you fully up to date, there is an onboard
software update facility which, at your command, triggers an
automatic Internet connection to the Hive technical web-site,
and runs a download of the latest release of software for your
unit. Management will fit in with your present practice, and
can be local or remote, and via a dumb terminal, Telnet or SNMP.
There are facilities to store and record the unit configuration
using simple text files. Local management is via a series of
simple drop-down multi-choice menus which make set up a fast
and simple process. Remote site access is available from the
moment that the carrier link is established and you can take
over configuration from a central management point at that stage
if site visits need to be minimised. |
