The
BBX3500E is a two port multiplexer that combines an E1 PBX
port and a serial data port onto a single E1 bearer. It provides
a cost effective means to interconnect enterprise LANs and
PBXs across carrier networks. The main application for the
BBX3500E product is to inter-connect serial data common in
enterprise networks and a PBX E1 interface with an E1 link
supplied by telecommunications carrier networks. The BBX3500E
provides a two port multiplexer, remote loop-backs and comprehensive
diagnostic and manageability capabilities. It can also operate
as a simple drop and insert multiplexer, allowing serial data
to be dropped into an E1 link as an N x 64 Kbps data stream.
The E1 line and port are G.704 framed. The serial port supports
the following interfaces via adapter cables, data can be any
standard serial format: V.36, V.35, V.24, V.11, EIA 530, EIA
530A. All E1 timeslots are mapped 1:1 from the E1 port to
the E1 line unless the timeslots are allocated to the serial
data port. To configure the serial data port the user specifies
the serial port type and the number of contiguous timeslots
required in the E1 pipe for the required data rate.
